Son de Mar - South Corsica
SLEEK DESIGN, FAMILY ATMOSPHERE AND SEA VIEW: WE DISCOVERED A HOTEL THAT COMBINES ELEGANCE AND AUTHENTICITY, IN THE VILLAGE OF SAINT-CYPRIEN, A STONE'S THROW FROM PORTO-VECCHIO.
Crossing the threshold of Son de Mar is like entering an intimate haven where you immediately feel at home. Conceived and built by a local family deeply attached to the place, it retains a familial spirit while showcasing contemporary elegance. Its understated aesthetic is softened by the arches and vaults that pay homage to the traditional architecture of the village of San Ciprianu. The decor captivated us with its perfect balance between simplicity and refinement: raw concrete walls, dark wood furniture, all bathed in the Corsican light. One of the hotel’s major assets is its access to the sea. Just a hundred meters away lies a beautiful golden sandy beach, ideal for watching the sunrise, swimming during the day, and strolling in the evening. The proximity of the Mediterranean gives the stay a natural rhythm, perfectly in tune with the lapping of the waves and the sea breeze. Son de Mar also stands out for its profoundly warm welcome. You feel expected, valued, almost like you’re staying with friends. At the table, we tasted a refined, inventive and generous bistronomic cuisine that enhances local products.
A secret to keep… or to share.
The spa, a haven of tranquility, uses Codage products, renowned for their natural ingredients. The wellness coach, a passionate and caring professional, is a true magician who combines treatments, techniques, and expertise to offer guests a memorable experience. The hotel is particularly well-suited to family stays. Children are welcome, and the immediate proximity to the beach makes for simple and joyful days. No need for complicated planning: everything is right there, within easy reach, so everyone can enjoy themselves as they please. We left Son de Mar with the feeling of having experienced a moment of reconnection with ourselves and others. The place soothes, recenters, and offers a genuine immersion, far removed from the more traditional establishments in Porto-Vecchio. We almost hesitate to talk about it too much: this haven in Saint-Cyprien is a secret we want to keep jealously guarded, or share only with those we love. ■ sondemar.fr
